Meet Homer, Beacon Hill’s New Fav for Cozy Vibes and Oven-roasted Eats

Sure, you’ve likely had Mediterranean food before, but not Mediterranean food quite like this. Beacon Hill’s new game-changing spot Homer is about to rock your world (and your taste buds) with wood-fired eats and a warm, cozy atmosphere.

Homeward Bound

The trendy eatery opened in late September, and has quickly become known for its “homey touches”. With details like stacks of firewood and playfully elegant ostrich-patterned wallpaper, modern rustic-chic vibes abound. And that didn’t just happen by accident. Homer is the brainchild of chef Logan Cox and interior designer Sara Knowles, so it makes sense that their product is equal parts taste and aesthetic.

One design perk is the outdoor patio. But this isn’t just any regular old patio, this one comes with a walk-up soft serve ice cream and cocktail window, making it ideal for warm spring days and perfectly crisp fall evenings alike.

The best part? Logan and Sara’s shared creation is named after their adorable golden retriever — Homer.

Grub Goals

It all started when Logan and Sara set out to create a Mediterranean- and Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant that would utilize all the local ingredients the PNW has to offer. Out of this unique blend of area flavors, Homer was born — and it has been nearly jam-packed every night since.

Take one look at the menu, and it’s not hard to see why — it’s filled to the brim with delicious oven-fired plates that both veggie- and meat-lovers can appreciate. Fill up on good-for-you selections including whole-roasted cauliflower with celery, cardamom, and a chanterelle dip or roasted chicken with a paste of chilies and fruits. One of the top items on the menu, however, is the lamb ribs with pistachio, plums, and cumin — an incredible combination of spices that you won’t want to miss out on.

Fitt Tip: be sure to order their pita bread. Seriously — order the pita bread. It is melt-in-your-mouth, pillowy goodness, and you will not regret it.

Just don’t forget to save room for dessert. Along with soft serve ice cream, they also offer pistachio rice pudding with stone fruit and ganache or a warm cookie from the oven with sweet cream.

So, have we convinced you yet? Get to Homer for a healthy, comforting dish you’ll be dreaming about long after your meal is over.
