“It’s the pant that goes with everything,” says Senior Vice President of Men’s Design, Dawn Brandl. And it didn’t take long for it to become a favorite style that people came back for again and again.
“When we set out to create the original Boracay chino, we wanted to give our guests the most comfortable pants they’ve ever put on,” says Men’s Design Director Darcy Luedke. “We wanted it to be something they can wear every single day, whether they’re in the office or on the golf course. That’s where it all started.”
And it seems our designers hit the mark. Across styles and fits, our Boracay pants received thousands of five-star reviews and are one of our bestsellers year after year.
A New Era of Comfort: Introducing the Boracay® Island Chino
At Tommy Bahama, we're constantly challenging ourselves to raise the bar—and after 10 years (and countless compliments!), we've updated the Boracay icon you love to be better than ever before.
Now crafted with more cotton and brushed for added softness, the Boracay Island Chinos have an even softer handfeel. Plus, the new twill weave makes for a more durable fabric, so your favorite pair looks better for longer.
“We work really closely with our mills and factories to get the best handfeel possible,” Darcy adds. “What sets our chino fabric apart is the stretch and recovery. Not a lot of chinos on the market have stretch, so we wanted to make sure it was just the right amount—comfortable all day, without getting stretched out.”
The best part? The new signature comfort-stretch waistband. Inspired by our performance wear, the new pants feature a hidden elastic waistband on the interior. It's designed to move with you all day long without ever feeling too snug, so you can go from an early morning tee time to family dinners in total comfort.
“It’s extremely versatile,” adds Dawn. “It keeps its shape and travels well. You can wear it on a plane and still look effortlessly polished by the time you get off.”
But we didn’t stop there. We added thoughtful details like a rubber grip on the interior waistband to help keep your shirt tucked in, so you can stay looking put-together without the extra fuss.

“We really wanted this collection to both stand out on its own and be easily outfitted with other Tommy Bahama pieces,” says Executive Vice President of Product Design and Development Bradley O’Brien. Much like your old go-to jeans, Indigo Palms™ was made to be worn everywhere and with everything.
No detail too small, the collection boasts thoughtful touches like heritage palm-print pocket linings, contrast embroidery, and specially branded rivets and buttons.
“We designed it with comfort and versatility as our top priority,” Women’s Design Director Leann Littlewood says. “Our quality stretch denim provides all-day comfort while keeping the wearer cool and put-together.”
The women’s line features several different fits and washes, from timeless classics to on-trend favorites. “The styles we developed give options for casual and more refined occasions, all in flattering silhouettes you’ll love,” she adds.
For the men’s line, paradise-level comfort was the ultimate goal. According to Men’s Design Director Darcy Luedke, the collection utilizes a quality denim that gives the best handfeel, beautiful washes, and the right amount of stretch.

A polished skinny jean in an ankle length, featuring a classic high waist that’s slimming in all the right places.
BRENNA: This is our most versatile denim. It effortlessly styles with a tucked-in tee, like our Kauai V-Neck, and the casual Aruba Blazer.
An on-trend wide leg meets a versatile crop and flattering high rise for a put-together look that’s just effortless.
BRENNA: These should hug comfortably around the waist and hips and hit just above the ankle. For more easygoing looks, I like these paired with a tee and cardigan. Elevate them with a sweater and ballet flats or a dressy sandal.
This classic bootcut gets a unique crop that brings all the flair. With an easy mid rise, this pair is fitted through the leg with a slight flare toward the hem.

BRENNA: The Medium Indigo wash is going to be your new go-to jean. It’s perfect for any occasion and any season. In the cooler months, I like it paired with a long-sleeve tee and a shirt jacket. The Dark Indigo wash feels more refined—it can be business casual with a flannel button-down and lace-up boot, or dinner ready with a cashmere sweater and suede drivers.
